Local Park - $5

With our first xc ski trip cancelled due to lack of the white fluffy stuff on Sunday, Feb. 3, ten adventurers set out to hike the trails of Hawkins Pond near Windsor, NY. We were surprised to find more snow than ice in the woods which made our trek a bit easier. We enjoyed the solitude of the pond, fog settling in the hemlocks and the companionship of friends. It was awesome to get in a good hike before an incredible Super Bowl!!

Lunch in a Lean-To Hike
Saturday, February 9, 10am-4:30pm
Shake off the cabin fever with a day hike in the woods! We will head out to trek a section of the Finger Lakes Trail. Weather and trail conditions will dictate how far we go. If you're up for it, put on your winter boots, pack a lunch, water and snacks. Dress in layers and bring a day pack. This will be a challenging hike.

The Finger Lakes Trail up in the Tuller Hill State Forest provided us with a beautiful winter landscape for a day in the woods. Eight of us turned our weekend into an adventure! Although there it was slippery on some slopes, this group rose to the occasion with good humor and lots of team work! There was even a few inches of the white fluffy stuff!! Yahoo!!

We explored some of the most awesome trails to be had in the Southern Tier! If that wasn't enough a small blizzard erupted later in the afternoon with white-out conditions as we were heading into the final leg of our trek. This posse of seven DEFINATELY enjoyed an adventure!! Thanks for a GREAT DAY everyone!!

Chenango Valley State Park didn't disappoint us. The forest was beautifully dusted with a layer of fresh snow still clinging to the white pines. We hiked a solid 3 miles this afternoon before heading back to campus to start the weekend!
